Laura Brichtas künstlerischer Schwerpunkt liegt in der inszenierten Fotografie, mit deren Hilfe sie die Korrelation des menschlichen Körpers und dessen Umgebung erforscht.
Bei der Vorstellung eines Raums wird dieser direkt in Relation zum menschlichen Körper gedacht. Ausgehend von diesem Gedanken folgt die Künstlerin der Fragestellung, ob der Körper den Raum bestimmt, oder ob umgekehrt, sich der Körper mit seinen Formen den Kanten des gegebenen Raums anpassen muss. Im Zuge diese Auseinandersetzung untersucht Laura Brichta auch den performativen Raum innerhalb der Kamera und dessen Ausweitung auf den realen Raum. Dabei ist der performative Akt nicht nur auf den kurzen Moment vor der Kamera beschränkt, sondern tritt vielmehr aus diesem Rahmen heraus und wird zum eigenständigen Bestandteil der Arbeit.

Laura Brichta's artistic focus is on staged photography, which she uses to explore the correlation between the human body and its surroundings.
When a space is imagined, it is thought of directly in relation to the human body. Based on this idea, the artist pursues the question of whether the body determines the space or, conversely, whether the body and its forms must adapt to the edges of the given space. In the course of this exploration, Laura Brichta also examines the performative space within the camera and its extension into real space. The performative act is not limited to the brief moment in front of the camera, but rather steps out of this frame and becomes an independent component of the work.
